STARSkate
Skate Canada's STARSkate program provides skaters with the opportunity to develop fundamental figure skating skills in four skill areas in group and private lesson format. STARSkate skaters may compete in invitational and interclub competitions. Skaters in this program receive lessons from a certified Skate Canada coach and work individually during practice sessions.

- Skating skills: Combines fundamental figure skating movements (focusing on edges, turns, power and speed) which are executed on a specified pattern.
- Ice dance: Teaches skating movements along with timing, musicality, and unison as skaters are partnered by a coach.
- Free skate: Consists of the execution of jumps, spins, footwork, field movements, and stroking either in isolation or in sequence performed to music.
- Interpretive skating: Encourages a skater’s creativity, expression, and musicality, rather than focusing on technique.
