Coach Kayla began her coaching career in 2007, joining the SFSC Family in 2009. She is a Regional Level 2 Intermediate Star Skate Coach. She truly is the heart and soul of our wonderful little skating community!
"I know that getting into skating can sometimes be hard and sticking to it is rarely easy. Whether you are using our programs to move into figure skating, hockey or just for fun, there is still a lot of involvement required. Because my Dad has been such an avid hockey player from the time he could walk, he made sure that his girls could skate! Although I did not move into hockey like he had planned, he did become a proud figure skating father as his daughters found a love for the sport. All the while, my mom became not only a proud figure skating mother, but also a chauffeur, seamstress, executive board member, decorator, off-ice practice coach, fundraiser, supporter, music player, advertising director, team manager, and much more. My main goal as a coach is to pass on a love of skating to all of the skaters I teach and provide them with the best opportunities to reach their highest potential while having fun and feeling challenged." "My coaching philosophy centers around creating a supportive and encouraging environment. I aim to ensure that every skater not only enjoys their time on the ice but also develops their skills to their fullest potential. I began skating at the age of 2 and developed a deep love for the sport early on. At 8, after watching a friend perform in one of SFSC’s shows, I decided to join figure skating. That moment sparked a lifelong passion for the ice. Through my experiences, I've faced both joys and challenges, growing immensely as a skater and individual. My goal is to share this passion with others, helping them discover the joy of skating. I believe in fostering a fun, inclusive, and nurturing environment where skaters feel like part of a second family. Skating is not just about competitions and testing; it’s about building confidence, friendships, and a lifelong love for the ice." Coach Haillee

Coach Marissa is a certified CanSkate and trained STAR Coach with over a decade of skating experience at the SFSC.
"From the first moment I stepped on the ice, skating became more than a sport - it became a constant, passion, and a defining part of who I am. The SFSC is where I fell in love with the sport and now have the privilege of giving back as a coach. Focusing on strong fundamentals, confidence-building, positive attitudes and a love for both the technical and artistic sides of skating. My coaching philosophy centers on creating a positive, supportive environment where skaters feel encouraged to grow at their own pace. I’m passionate about helping each athlete discover their potential and strive to make every lesson meaningful, fun, and inspiring." Coach Marissa
